The First Doorbelling

Dear Neighbors,

For the past few days my volunteers and I have been meeting the great people of our city. I met an elderly woman disgusted with the shortsighted policy making that is turning our neighborhoods into developer land grabs. She specifically mentioned two mega-houses on her block which had destroyed two beautiful Ballard bungalows in order to be constructed. It disturbs me that we live in a time when city hall is willing to sacrifice the quaint beauty of Seattle’s charming neighborhoods in exchange for contributions and kickbacks from real estate developers. I told her I would expand zoning regulations to make mega-houses illegal and I will make public parks and open space a cornerstone of my legacy on the council. She put up one of my signs and said “We need real leadership. You seem like the right sort.” this interaction is being replayed all across the city. It truly humbles me to know that I am not alone in seeking a change in city policy.

If you want to join me doorbelling, or know when I’ll be in your neighborhood, just check my always updated events page!

Have a wonderful day!
